As often is the case, this offering came about by happenstance. While visiting Toronto, mywife and I ventured over to the Distillery Historic District, where the old Gooderam and Worts Distillery was once located . In its heyday, it was the largest whiskey distillery in the world, but with the its closing in 1990, the complex soon became derelict and a prime location for redevelopment. A far sighted developer chose to preserve the district that contained the largest and best preserved collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America. It is presently the site of a pedestrian-only arts, culture and entertainment neighbourhood, with the buildings occupied by one of a kind boutiques, art galleries, live performance venues, restaurants, jewellery stores, cafés, coffee shops, and a micro brewery, the Mill Street Brewery. Many of the upper floors of buildings are leased by artists as studio spaces. It was here that we discovered a little gem of a garden shop called “Vintage Gardener” ... |

Here are some photos and comments sent to us by some of our customers:
"Good
Morning Elaine
My husband and I were down to see your shop,
and I must say how enchanting
it is.
Your daughter was ever so kind to take a picture for us surrounded
by such delightful lavender. One of my
favorite flowers. I do alot of
gardening and really do enjoy
silks, dried, and fresh. It must be such
pleasure to work
around them all day.
When you asked me to send a copy of the picture
I was delighted.Please
add me to your e-mail list.
Thank you for that most enjoyable moment.
Regards
Janet"

Greetings
from Vivi, a recent visitor to our
studio from Hong Kong.
Photos from our wreath workshops:
Hi Elaine:
I thought would send a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed
the Saturady
workshop on hydrangea wreaths. Both Katie & I now
have our beautiful wreaths
hanging in our homes & they are fabulous
(in all modesty of course!)
In addition to learning how to make the wreath, we really enjoyed
the time in
your shop "Vintage Gardener" It certainly made quite a
dull January
day seem like spring wasn't too far away.
Here are some of the pics we took.
Thanks again.

This is Sonia’s wreath – the first one she has ever made, and no previous training – way to go Sonia!
